Board Members – Our current Board continually seeks to find people interested in donating their time and professional expertise to assist in the oversight and operations of Push to Walk. Board membership is a 3 year term and meetings are held monthly. Board Members are expected to participate fully in decision making and fund raising.

Volunteers for Committees, Task and Special Events – Push to Walk has ongoing projects where volunteers could be very beneficial. Either serving on administrative oversight committees, assisting with specific tasks like marketing and public relations or helping with special events, additional volunteers provide extra manpower to accomplish more than the Board and Staff could do alone. Let us know if you are interested in helping Push to Walk with any of these short-term needs!

Administrative Interns – Push to Walk has developed relationships with Ramapo College, William Paterson University and Montclair University to provide college students with a non-profit business experience to supplement their academic studies. Majors such as communications, writing, journalism and marketing are a few of the areas where interns can gain valuable experience while earning credits.

Exercise Trainer – Push to Walk trainers provide specialized one-on-one exercise training workouts to people with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and other neurological conditions. We are looking for a person who has a good working knowledge of the body through education in a health/fitness field of study. Potential candidates should possess a desire to work with people who have spinal cord injuries, paralysis and other neurological conditions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in health/fitness field of study
  • Personal training certification and/or experience
  • Understanding of anatomy, physiology and basic biomechanics

Additional preference will be given to applicants who have:

  • Experience in a related field
  • Exposure to or knowledge of SCI

Duties Will Include:

  • Evaluating new clients
  • Establishing and conducting individualized workouts
  • Performing administrative tasks associated with client workouts and facility operations
  • Assisting with special events

*Hours of work and compensation to be determined.

Gym Aides – Part time aides are an essential part of Push to Walk’s program. College students studying health related fields are preferred, but anyone who is interested in a rewarding, fulfilling, part-time position is encouraged to apply.
