Our Walking Therapy Process

Our Approach to Walking Therapy

Our Activity Based Exercise Trainers endure an eight-week hands-on training program that prepares them to structure training programs safely and effectively for people with various levels and/or degrees of spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, transverse myelitis, muscular dystrophy, and other neurological conditions.

They have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field and are certified personal trainers through a nationally recognized organization like the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, or the American Council on Exercise.

The trainers also participate in continuing education, specialized courses, and attend conferences directly related to the populations we serve.
