Client Scholarships
Are you considering becoming a client, but concerned about how you would pay? Are you a current client who is facing financial challenges and could benefit from our Client Scholarship Fund?
We understand that finances can be an obstacle when individuals and their families are searching for a continuing exercise program after traditional therapy is complete. Push to Walk established a Client Scholarship Fund in 2008 to help qualified clients offset the costs of training here.

Who May Apply?
How to Apply
To apply, email Hope Edelman at hedelman@pushtowalknj.org to obtain a scholarship application.
The Scholarship Fund is managed by the Board of Trustees’ Scholarship Committee, which provides financial assistance to offset workout costs for clients in need. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, you can request an application from the Push to Walk staff and inquire about available funds. To be considered for a scholarship, you will need to complete the application form and submit the necessary documentation. This includes your most recent bank statements and a personal statement detailing your injury, family situation, and how participation in our program impacts or will impact your life. While financial information is important, the Committee values understanding the full context of your circumstances.
Scholarship Program Entry Dates:
- January 1
- April 1
- July 1
- October 1

Guidelines for Financial Assistance
Scholarship awards are made for a six-month period. If funds are exhausted before the six months are completed, clients must wait until the next cycle to reapply. Please note that scholarship awards and renewals are not guaranteed, and are subject to the availability of funds and the number of applicants.
Clients may begin training at Push to Walk before the scholarship entry date, but they will be responsible for the full payment of their workouts until scholarship funds are awarded. If a client is unable to pay the full fee upfront, they will not be added to the schedule until scholarship assistance is granted.
Client Fundraising Options
We encourage clients and their families to actively participate in fundraising efforts to support their training. This can include creating a GoFundMe page or exploring other fundraising strategies outlined on our website and in our fundraising kit. Additionally, we host various events throughout the year to raise funds, and we invite you and your family to consider volunteering your time to support these initiatives. Your involvement will not only help cover training costs, but also benefit the entire Push to Walk community, providing crucial support for individuals striving to live independent and fulfilling lives.
